No, this is a replacement case (shell) only. It is intended to repair a key with broken buttons or a damaged casing. You must transfer your existing circuit board and battery into this new shell.

Is the emergency key blade removable?

Yes, the key blade slides out when you press the release button (often disguised or located on the side/bottom). The blade included is uncut.

How do I change the battery?

The battery for this key style is held inside the back cover. When you snap the key open to transfer your electronics, you will see the battery slot (CR2032).

Important Advice!
1- Check Key Shape: This is for the "New Generation" Captiva. It is a rectangular fob with 3 silver buttons in a vertical row. It will NOT fit the older, rounded Captiva keys.

2- Transfer Electronics: You must carefully open your original key and transfer the internal circuit board into this new shell. The battery holder is located on the back cover.

3- Key Blade: The included emergency blade is uncut. You will need to have it cut by a locksmith or swap it with your original blade if the retention pin mechanism matches.
